We provide artist development and management to independent artists looking to refine their craft, develop their artistic portfolio and take advantage of opportunities to showcase their skills. Our Production Team produces local and national shows for colleges, museums, festivals and cultural events. We also provide entertainment, event planning and consultation to independent and corporate venues looking to make a presence and increase business in rapidly growing urban communities. Free Ya Mind Taps Heavily into the Artistic Medium of Spoken Word/Poetry Spoken Word is an art that Free Ya Mind has ignited to celebrate diversity; by drawing crowds of people of all ages, genders, religions, cultures and nationalities. Our productions inspire diverse expression; including everything from Gospel-influenced poems to Rock and Hip-Hop that encompass critical social issues such as HIV/AIDS, Incarceration, Politics, 911, Hurricane Katrina, Race, Religion Sexuality and more.... We believe Spoken Word is one way to ignite the consciousness of the surrounding world and Free Ya Mind's efforts demonstrate such possibilities. Spoken Word challenges one to see, feel, taste, and smell a concept from a new perspective. The artist is challenged to express original thought or concepts in the presence of the critical ear and the prejudging eye. The listener is challenged to process objectively or subjectively new information, never before heard, making history and herstory real. With challenges comes growth and collectively, Free Ya Mind challenges us to be free from ignorance, assumptions and ultimately fear. Spoken Word poetry is one of the most innovative forms of artistic entertainment that is sweeping college campuses, coffee shops and urban centers all over the United States. The real dialogue about the status of America and beyond is happening at Free Ya Mind Spoken Word events. Our poetry events are where candid, open and honest dialogue occurs in terms of the real status of our country. We take pride in aggressively meeting our initiatives to serve and transform lives.
